Thessaloniki (1917–1941): The 2nd Family Register Available Online in REGIE

Following the publication of the Birth Registers (2022/P1 – 10,265 entries), the Marriage Registers (2022/P2 – 10,011 entries) and that of the Family Register of letter נ  (Nun or Noun) or Register 13B in February 2026, the year continues with the online release since April 17, 2026 in REGIE database ↗, of the second recovered Family Registers of the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki after World War II.  

This is the Register for the letter  ק  (K / Kof), also known as 16 Register.

This register lists 6,557 individuals whose family name begins with the letter ק  (K / Kof), the Hebrew letter corresponding to names that start with the letter K when written in Latin characters. In this register, you will also find the names and first names of spouses, children, and fathers.
 

These are data from the continuous census of families between 1917 and 1941, the year the Nazis arrived.

Each family is identified by:

1. The volume number in which it appears;
2. The family number (internal to the volume);
3. The page number (internal to the volume).

For the time, this is a detailed identification of families, now allowing us to locate the members of each family in the broadest sense, as male children generally "inherit" the same family number, suffixed by /2, /3, /b, etc. 

The top 10 surnames in these families are: KAMHI (1 012), KARASO (682), KAPON (577), KALDERON (327), KUENKA (288), KOVA (284), KATAN (276), KASTRO (217), KAPUANO (139) et KRESPIN (123).

With the online release of this Family Register, a total of 32,556 entries are available for your research.
