This is a fundamental tool for the genealogy of Jews from Tunisia and Algeria,  which concerns 10 to 12,000 individuals of all social categories. It allows us to :

• Find their ascendency and discover collateral kins up to the very beginning of the 19th century and sometimes even to the end of the 18th century
• Discover biographical pieces of information that you cannot find elsewhere
• Find Algerians Jews gone to Tunisia
• Find the Algerian origins of some Jews of Tunisia.

This work will allow you to find pieces of information in the following cases :

• Algerian natives who went to Tunisia
• A mention "protected by France" in a register of the indigenous vital records in Algeria (see database BECANE)
• Family names found ine list at the end of the book and here

This book has a double purpose : a source of biographical and genealogical information for people involved and also a working tool which allows the searcher to easily obtain remarkable documents by going to the Centre des Archives Diplomatiques de Nantes.
