I am trying to trace the lineage of my paternal
great-grandfather who was named Gdaliah Straschun (or a derivative).
He was born in Vilna (Lithuania) on 10 April 1840 & died in Paris in the
early part of 20th century. I do not know when he & his family (I believe
there were 6 or 7 children) moved to Paris. My late grandfather, who lived in
Amsterdam, perished at Sobibor in 1943. I knew 4 of his sisters - all of them
lived in England & they were Una, Sara,Martha & Leah (maybe these were the
Angliced names).There was another sister, Fanny, who died well before I was
born. I believe there was also a brother. I was born on 23 August 1947. There
is a relationship via Vilna with the Talmudic students & I hope someone can
help me . I believe I am missing only 1 or 2 links in my family tree. My
father was Nathan (born 14 March 1909). He had a brother (Moses) who died in
Sobibor & a sister (Leah) who lives in New York. My father died on 8 December
