The Jewish community of Metz and its family

1565–1700

A second edition, considerably enlarged.

Seven years have passed since the first edition, also exhausted, and we felt the need to get into a second edition, considerably enlarged.

Our research - and those of others - have made new discoveries, progress on some issues remained hypothetical, it seemed so obvious to integrate these contributions as part of work completed. We have extended our field of investigation and pushed the limits of our study up to 1700, few publications having interest in the late seventeenth century. This is a broader content that we present to readers of this second edition.

The first part, historic, now includes 75 pages and includes the reproduction of new documents. The second part, records of deeds, has some 150 pages and contains 1,126 documents (642 in the first edition), partial copies of acts and more than 250 signatures in Hebrew (translated). An index of 24 pages lists in detail the hundreds of characters mentioned in the acts. The third part is a dictionary of families with a thorough genealogical presentation, which has 250 pages.

The release is scheduled on 10 June 2009. The volume, A4 size, weighs 1.3 kg and comprises 500 pages with forty color and is priced at 45 Euros in cardboard packaging. Shipping: France: 7.65 Euros, 11.50 Euros Europe, West Indies 12.66 Euros, U.S. and Israel 15 Euros.Une seconde édition, considérablement augmentée.
