The "Cercle de Genealogie Juive" is a non-profit association to promote exchange of genealogical information. We do not provide custom-made genealogies and we do not make any extensive investigation neither for free nor for a charge. Nevertheless, some of us will be glad to make some research for you on behalf of our society if you are a member or if you join us. Anyway, if you have been pleased with our help, help us yourself by becoming a member or making a gift. If you become a member, you will better benefit from our experience but we shall also benefit from yours!

next issue of our Journal. These questions will thus be read by
new readers and might receive new answers. Therefore tell
us if you are a member.
| Many readers
are asking whether such or such surname is Jewish or not.
From a general point of view, this question has no answer
since the same name can be shared by Jews and by non-jews
as well. Nevertheless, some surnames are often borne by Jews
and other ones rarely. The only serious method consists in
building one's family tree until indisputable documents are
found. We can try to help you in this task if you join our
Genealogical Society. |
